Careers

Tudor Lodge is a residential care home in Burnham-on-Sea, Somerset.
It has been a family run business since 1995 and provides a home
from home atmosphere

We realise the difference that people make to our work. It is the dedication and empathy of our team that has enabled us to grow and provide a wider service to our service users over the years.

All Care Staff are trained appropriately to deliver the highest standards of care. A continuous staff training programme is implemented to ensure that these high standards are maintained in line with the latest developments in care practices as may be laid down in appropriate legislation, Regulations and the Care Quality Commission.

We select staff on their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. We carefully screen through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) as well as ensuring that we have two references on file for all successful applicants. During induction, all staff are trained in the following key subjects:

  • Code of conduct
  • Confidentiality
  • Aims, Objectives & Philosophy of Care
  • Service Specification
  • Health and Safety
  • Anti-Discriminatory Practice
  • Disclosure of Abuse or Bad Practice
  • Personal Care Tasks
  • Companies Policies & Procedures
  • Terms & Conditions of Service
  • Fire procedure
  • Manual Handling
  • Food Hygiene
  • First Aid Training

If you are looking for satisfaction and variety in your work, where no two days are the same, we would like to hear from you.

Perhaps you have considerable experience of providing care and just want a change, or the opportunity to increase your chances of working when and where it suits you. Maybe you are re-entering work or new to care and feel we can provide what you are looking for. Either way we will provide you with the support and encouragement you need.

If you can provide caring skills and energy to make that difference, we would like to have you in our team.

Jobs at Tudor Lodge include:

Senior Carers – Supervising teams of carers, running shifts, providing person-centred care to residents and liaising with resident’s families and professionals.

Carers – You will support our residents with their personal care needs, generally working 6-hour shifts (8.00am-2.00pm, or 2.00pm – 8.30pm), building relationships and providing dignity and respect to residents.  No two days are the same!

Bank/Ad-hoc Care Staff – This would suit anyone with experience of working in care who would like a flexible way of working. We contact you when we have an available shift, e.g. to cover staff holidays, and you can choose to work it or not.

General Assistants – Working 7.45am-12.30pm or 4.30pm-8.30pm, you provide refreshments to the residents, assist the cooks at mealtimes, and provide a friendly face and a listening ear for residents.

Domestics – Working between the hours of 8.30am-2.15pm, you are responsible for keeping Tudor Lodge looking ship-shape and maintaining rigorous infection control standards.

Most positions are on a rota covering weekdays and weekends, but we try to adapt the rota to suit you and work around your commitments.
